Treatment Room
The treatment room in the department, as in any Ear, Nose and Throat Department, is an essential and well used resource .

Following an activity analysis of the workload passing through it, an agreement was reach to staff it on a more permanent basis.

Liz Lamb has since been appointed to the position of Treatment Room Nurse. Liz is a very experienced ENT / Maxillofacial nurse. She covers all treatment room work between 9.30am - 3.00pm. After this time all treatment room work reverts back to ward staff.

Day to day work for Liz is varied. All ENT and Maxillofacial Surgery emergency patients are sent direct to the department from A/E units across Lanarkshire. Liz attends to the needs of these patients, providing any treatment that they may require.

In addition, Liz runs her own review clinics on the ward. These patients attend for a variety of reasons including; post op checks, ear toilet / dressing and tracheal stoma care.

In this respect she works closely with Karen Sheridan, ENT Nurse Specialist.

Liz also assists ward staff who can refer inpatients for dressings, suture removal etc.
