An enhanced role was established as the nursing staff are still part of the ward numbers. The team members have a number of responsibilities, which include:
1. Assess and treat emergency ENT referrals 2. Assess and offer interventions to inpatients 3. Offer telephone advice 4. Contribute to treatment pathways 5. Data collection and audit.
